At Work

Didn't take a better picture today, as you would have guessed. Work here is editing yesterday's pictures from a wedding for which I was the "official photographer".

Yeaaaahhh!!

Yesss... the lens finally came after what seemed to be a very long wait, though it was just 2 days. Having used to the kit lens on my camera for so long, this looks BBBiiig and even bigger with the hood attached.

Here are some pictures of my camera with the new lens and a side by side physical size comparison of the 18-55mm EF-S kit lens and the 17-40mm EF L.

"My L glass" and the motive for this blog

I have spawned a whole bunch of blogs which were the outcome of various thoughts I had at different points in time. Now here is another blog. I wanted to name it "photoaday" or "onephotoaday" or something like that. But those blog URLs (blog internet addresses) were all taken. So I came up with this "mylglass" name. Wondering why?

I had bought a Canon EOS Rebel XT digital camera sometime ago with the kit lens that came along (18-55mm lens) and had also taken quite a few satisfactory pictures with them. Now I started feeling that I need a better lens, for whatever reason. So, I have bought this new Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens. Did you notice that L in bold red? I haven't got that in my hands yet. It is in transit, with UPS at some shipping facility of theirs. I will get it tomorrow.

To add to that, I watched this video blog called My Life with bad English today (for the second time, and if you haven't seen it, you must. It is absolutely cool) and was very motivated to do something creative.

So I decided to do something. To take one photo a day and put it up on this blog. This is not a new idea at all. Many have done this before.

Let my L glass arrive tomorrow and I must be here day after with my first picture. As you would have already guessed, I am VERY excited about my FIRST high end lens.
